Seasonal Tax Preparer
Job Summary
- Located in Parker, Colorado, we are looking for a seasonal qualified individual to prepare Federal, State and Local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities
Job Responsibilities/Duties
- Prepare tax returns during client meetings as well as mailed in and dropped off returns
- Identify savings opportunities as well as educate, counsel, and recommend tax strategies to clients
- Assist taxpayers with all regulatory compliance by following up with IRS and State letters
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies
- Collaborate with team members on other projects as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years’ experience as a tax preparer while preparing over 500 total tax returns
- Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience with Ultra Tax and Thomson Reuters preferred but not required
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) as well as the willingness and aptitude to expand into other areas
- Self-driven with ability to work independently
- Exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills as well as attention to detail skills
- Friendly, caring, empathetic and professional

General Office/Tax Intern
Job Summary:
The Tax Intern position is full-time from the first of February 1 through the Tax Filing Deadline in 2022. They will assist the Towers’ Tax team with initial preparation of individual tax returns. The person will be trained in tax return preparation. as well as general office duties such as greeting clients, answering phones, filing, etc. The position reports to the Senior Tax Advisor.
Essential Functions:
- Compilation of information and data provided by Clients for individual tax returns
- Data entry in Tax Program
- Contact clients for any needed additional information or questions
- Follow up until information is received and input is complete
- Scan documents into software program
- General Office Duties; i.e., answer phones, make copies, file
